In 1992 Maria attended her first college design class at Southwestern Community College
in Chula Vista, CA.  Although her major in college was psychology, she had a strong
interest in art.  It was in her drawing class that she first realized her gifts.  However, Maria
continued to study psychology and in June 1999 she received her Bachelor's in
Psychology.

In 2001 Maria decided to go back to her creative roots by becoming a preschool teacher.
It was there that she discovered that we are all born with creativity.  It was from being a
teacher that she also learned true patience and that
art is a process, not a product.

From 1999 until now Maria has produced many works ranging from drawings,
photography and web graphics to oil and acrylic paintings.  Marketing and selling her
works online, Maria's work is now in the private collections of people all across the U.S.,
Puerto Rico, Greece, and the Philippines.

Maria has declared herself an "all-around artist."  In addition to painting, drawing, and
photography, Maria is also a published freelance
writer. Her articles have been featured
in magazines such as
Home & Hearth, San Diego Magazine, and Depot Home.  She is
also a nationally syndicated blogger and writes for one of the leading business blog
networks,
Know More Media.  She is also considered an expert writer at EzineArticles and
The Sideroad.

Maria also
designs jewelry, plays several musical instruments, writes poetry, and aspires
to become a singer.  However, her ultimate goal in life is travel around the world to spread
peace and help people.

Maria Palma has always been an artist at heart.  Not only a visual artist,
but a musical artist as well as an aspiring writer.  She received her
Bachelor's in Psychology with a minor in Business from California State
University, Chico.

All throughout grade school and high school Maria remembers
constantly doodling on papers.   Art was definitely a class she enjoyed,
but it wasn't until a layoff after 9/11 did she realize her
passion for art.
She has only taken three art classes in college: drawing, design, and
painting, but most of what she knows about art has been self-taught.
